Can I choose my electric utility in Oregon?

No. Oregon homes are served by the utility that holds the territory for that address. Going solar is the main way to control what you pay for power instead of relying only on your utility.

Why does my utility matter for solar?

Your utility sets your electricity rate and decides which incentives you get. PGE and Pacific Power customers qualify for Energy Trust of Oregon incentives, and Pacific Power adds Wattsmart battery payments. Co-op and PUD customers can still use the state rebate.
