Agricultural solar

USDA REAP solar grants for Oregon farms

The Rural Energy for America Program helps farmers and rural businesses pay for solar. Here is how it works in Oregon.

How to apply

From eligibility to install

  1. Step 1

    Confirm eligibility

Agricultural producers with at least half of gross income from farming or ranching, and small businesses in rural areas, can apply. Your project must be on property you own or control.

  2. Step 2

Get an energy assessment and quote

Applications need a site-specific solar design, cost estimate and projected production. We provide these with an NREL-based production model.

  3. Step 3

    Register and apply

Register in SAM.gov, then submit to USDA Rural Development's Oregon office before a quarterly deadline. Projects over $200,000 need a full technical report.

  4. Step 4

    Install after award

Work should start only after you receive the award letter, since costs incurred before the application date generally aren't eligible.
